Inter Engineering organized Shavlik Security Breakfast

Inter Engineering was the organizer of yet another of its innovative events on June, 18^th, being the first Security Breakfast. The Starbucks Café located in an ancient renovated mansion on Patission Avenue in the centre of Athens, constituted the nostalgic and relaxing décor for a business-breakfast served by Inter Engineering to end-users and resellers.

Objective of the event was to give information about important security issues which absorb the Management of both medium-sized and large organizations alike these days: the timely and effective application of security patches to the IT-system (patch management) and their compliancy with security legislation and security standards.

“Managers have started to worry” commented Josmaarten Swinkels, CEO of Inter Engineering. “Already, legislation obligates all financial organizations to comply with Security Standards like ISO 17799 and soon many other sectors, like Stock Exchange-listed enterprises, providers of the banking world, the health sector and others, will follow. Those who have gone through it, know how hard, tenacious and expensive the procedure is. Shavlik solutions automate the procedure towards compliancy making it easy, effective and cheap”.

The attendees of the two hour meeting were Security Officers, Auditors, IT Managers and System Administrators of medium-sized and large organizations, next to representatives of IT-companies with clients like previously mentioned. All where informed about the problem strategics and about the Shavlik solutions to handle it: NetChk Protect for automated Patch Management and NetChk Compliance for automated enforcement of security policies and its relative adjustments on the network in order to make and keep an organization compliant with specific security regulations. 

The event ended at 11.00 hours leaving the attendees impressed. Quite some expressed great interest for immediate action in relation to the Shavlik solutions.
