Latest Ôhreats A new phishing attack through e-mail A targeted attack exploiting a vulnerability in Microsoft Office Excel Urgency: Large (Small/Medium/Large/Urgent) Description Inter Engineering warns you for a new phishing attack. The last two weeks a new phishing attack is being observed that tries to trick the recipients via e-mail that looks like it comes from the Citibank’s domain. In fact, the sender of this mail only seems to belong to the Citibank’s domain. The email tries to trick recipients pretending that a problem has been detected and the customer’s account needs to be cancelled and his access to it restricted. There is a link embedded in the e-mail and the customer is advised to click on that in order to reactivate his account. Naturally, you should NOT do this! Suggested solutions To avoid such threats do not click on the link that is embedded on that e-mail. Inter Engineering recommends MIMEsweeper solutions for protection against this kind of phishing attacks. Customers who have MIMEsweeper can be protected from these threats configuring their policy.
